Officials at the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) and Oxford Plains Speedway (OPS) have announced another marquis event as a part of the 51st annual Oxford 250 weekend August 23-25. A $10,000-to-win open competition 200 lap event for Super Late Models will the headline the Friday card night of the biggest weekend of the year.
"We wanted to give teams another big race with big money as a part of the biggest weekend of the year," said PASS President Tom Mayberry. "Adding in the twist of an open competition will make strategy and ingenuity a factor in the outcome of the race."
A few minimal rules will be enforced by technical inspectors, allowing teams to think outside the box on both strategy, setups, and overall package. All cars will weigh 2750 with 58% left side weight, have a template style body with a clear spoiler, a tread width no more the 66 inches, no aluminum engine blocks, one carburetor, and the PASS Hoosier tires without tire softener.

With the addition of the 200 lap Open Competition race, PASS and OPS now feature four big marquis races at the Rte. 26 oval; The Celebration of America 300 in July, the aforementioned 200, the Oxford 250, and PASS 400 weekend in October. Further, Super Late Model racers will have a 150 lap event on August 4th and a 100 Oxford 250 qualifier on August 11th meaning every SLM race in the month August will be extra distance.

"2024 is a big year for PASS and OPS. After so many weather issues last season, we wanted to put together a schedule that would give our racers a chance at some longer races for bigger money," said Mayberry. "We think the addition of the open rules race is just another way to do exactly that."

Barre, VT — The Central Vermont area has been steadily rebuilding since devastating flooding in July of 2023 wreaked havoc across the region. While work continues, many homes have been repaired, many businesses reopened and now another light at the end of the tunnel approaches. The Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) Series is ready to make it’s Thunder Road debut on Thursday, July 18 to not only bring some of the world’s greatest racers to Barre, Vermont, but also to celebrate the strength and resilience of the people of Vermont. While the 2024 driver line-up has yet to be announced, the SRX Series has continued to sign on some of the world’s top racing talent. While ‘Rocket Man’ Ryan Newman earned the 2023 series title, he had his hands full all season long. Fellow NASCAR legends Tony Stewart, Brad Keselowski and Bobby Labonte kept their old oval-track rival in check while Indy Car drivers like Marco Andretti, Indianapolis 500 winners Helio Castroneves and Tony Kanaan and a sprinkling of other top dirt track and even drag racing pilots made the season interesting. The superstars will make the trek to Barre for their exciting debut on the iconic Thunder Road highbanks while also celebrating ‘Vermont Strong’, the resilient efforts by Vermonters to overcome anything thrown their way. “Our offices in Barre have been back online and it’s been a welcome sight to see so much of our downtown bounce-back from the flooding, as well as the rebuilding that continues in our surrounding communities,” said Thunder Road managing partner Cris Michaud. “To have SRX come back to close this chapter in a positive way while showcasing Thunder Road, the State of Vermont and the strength of Vermonters to the world, it’s pretty exciting.” As an added bonus, the 2024 Thunder Road Season Passes will include access to the SRX Event on July 18 along with all other stock car events at the Barre oval in the upcoming year! SRX Tickets will be available starting on Monday, November 27 either online on the Thunder Road website or in-person at the Barre, Vermont office. Adult General Admission is set at $45 with Child Tickets for those ages 12 and under are available for $20. The rest of the 2024 Thunder Road schedule of events is now finalized with the addition of SRX on July 18 and will be released on Wednesday. Season Passes will also go on sale on Monday, November 27 and will be available on the Thunder Road website. Likewise, all 2024 Rule Books and license information has been posted online for teams as we prepare for the 2024 season.

Berlin Raceway will return to the Superstar Racing Experience (SRX) schedule for a second consecutive season, the venue and series jointly announced via social media on Sunday.

The 0.4375-mile facility will host the fourth event of a six-race campaign on Thursday, August 1st, as the venue looks to repeat the smashing success of the inaugural event at the Berlin, Michigan-based facility.

In what served as the series' third season, the track joined the schedule for the first time, in which several stars of NASCAR, INDYCAR, and other prestigious forms of racing joined to compete in the event.

Kyle Busch, a two-time champion of the NASCAR Cup Series, went on to score the victory in the inaugural event, picking up his second career victory in the series -- in just his second start.

Other notable drivers to compete in the event included Helio Castroneves, Kevin Harvick, Kasey Kahne, and NASCAR Truck Series champion Johnny Benson, Jr., as well as the series' seven full-time drivers.

Berlin Raceway is the first venue to have its date officially announced by the Superstar Racing Experience. Additional announcements regarding the remainder of the schedule are expected to be forthcoming.

Thunder Road SpeedBowl, based in Barre, Vermont, is guaranteed a spot on the schedule for 2024, as a result of some unfortunate flash-flooding last season which forced the event to be canceled last-minute. The date for that event has yet to be announced.

The Nascar Whelen Modifieds returning to the Thompson Speedway for three events in 2024!

“2024 marks the fifth season that the ACT and PASS organizations have co-promoted the ⅝-mile oval at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, and they welcome the nationally renowned NASCAR touring series back to the track that started it all once again in the coming season”, ACT stated. The Whelen Modifieds are the oldest series on the Nascar market and have shown fans why they are one of the best Modified series around. The ground pounders of the Nascar Whelen Modified Tour will visit Thompson three times with their return to the 50th Icebreaker weekend on Sunday April 7th.

“The Icebreaker 150 brings the NASCAR Modifieds back to where it all started for the modern tour where back in 1985 it got its footing, and remains a top draw along the East Coast.” The Whelen Modifieds will return back on the date of Wednesday, August 14th for the Mid Week Special. Then on Sunday, October 13th for the 62nd Sunoco World Series of Speedway Racing!

“We’re excited to be able to host the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour for three dates in 2024”, said ACT managing partner Cris Michaud. “Having the Tour bookend the season at Thompson and make for epic Modified showdowns at both the Icebreaker and the World Series is pretty special and certainly gives everyone something to look forward to this off-season.”

We look forward to making our first trip to Thompson Speedway for the 50th Icebreaker on April 6th-7th!!!
